Do
you and your horse struggle with common horse related problems such as:
· A horse that does not respect your space
· Trailer
loading issues
· Lack
of confidence in your riding, balance and lightness?
Wayne’s
fluid, subtle, and respectful training of horses and humans is magical to
watch.
Wayne’s strengths
lie not only in the mastery of the techniques in his Soft Touch Horsemanship
program, but in his ability to articulate and demonstrate his skills to
riders and owners. Wayne’s goal is to create a willing partnership
between horse and rider by building confidence for a long and lasting
relationship. By his understanding of horses and how they respond in their
natural habitat, Wayne is able to address a broad spectrum of horsemanship
challenges. Whether training the young horse, correcting undesirable behaviors,
perfecting loading techniques, Wayne has a proven record of creating responsive,
functional, and confident mounts.
Wayne
says:
“I’ve
been working in some aspect with horses all my life. As a child, I had to
be with the horses. I was probably a difficult child, and I left home
permanently at age 14 and lived with relatives who raised horses in New
Mexico and Arizona. With horses, I felt complete. I spent hours observing
the nature of the horse and learning everything I could from other
trainers. And I am still learning. I often say that everyone I meet
has something to teach me. Most of what I have learned though, has been
from experience. People ask me what method I use… The Parelli method or
other natural horsemanship approach. I always answer that I use a little
bit from all the methods, developing my own program using a soft approach,
treating each horse individually and at its own pace, and not putting too
much pressure on the horse.”

Meet
Meaghan:
Wayne
continues:
“One of my
greatest joys has been instructing my daughter Meaghan on the principles
of sound horsemanship using a soft approach. Meaghan and I have
joined as a team when starting colts.”
Meaghan is a
Senior this year. She will go to farrier school in Oklahoma
after graduation from high school
Wayne and
Meaghan present MUST SEE clinics a couple of times a year. You will be mesmerized by their ability to take an
unbroken horse who has never had a saddle or rider on his/her back or been
ridden, and in a very short time, Wayne will take the horse into the round
pen and lay out foundational groundwork, thoroughly sack out and tack up
the horse. Meaghan will then be in the saddle without fear of bucking.
Depending on
time available, Wayne will work with a problem horse, The problems
may consist of bucking, rearing, head shyness, spooking, leading,
bridling, not standing to be mounted, etc.
Wayne works
with the horse and the rider. For lessons or horse training, contact
